Hitachi Touro Mobile 30 Driver Download
By Manuel Masiero August 30, 2012 at 11:00 PM. We previously tested the 500 GB Hitachi Touro Mobile Pro, and it proved to be one of the fastest 2.5” drives we've seen.
Did some one solved the Problem with the Hitachi Touro Mobile Pro USB Harddrive in Windows 8? This drive is compartible with Windows 8 and get installed fine but in Windows 8 when you plug it in it gets installed as SCSI drive. I am sure it should be installed as IDE drive. The result is you cant use the drive right, like slow reading of a file up to no reading at all.
And this harddrive is relativly new so Windows 8 should be aible to do the job. I wrote to Hitachi Support and they told me Microsoft 8 is the problem and Microsoft told me Hitachi is the problem. The solution would be to re do the driver for USB 2.0 and USB 3.o so it can detect all USB devices correct and install the right driver. I did install Windows 8 now 3 times and this problem occours for me still. So I will have to wait until this is solved, becourse I am not will to buy a new harddrive. Like I sad.I was contacting Hitachi and the driver are in Windows 8 but it does not get detected right.
When you plugg in the drive and check in the Device Manager is says SCSI Drive.so wrong driver. In Windows 7 he drive works fine it get installed as USB Device not SCSI. And yes I downloaded all updates for Windows 8 and still the same Problem. With other words Microsoft is passing the ball to Hitachi and revers. My question is: When thos 2 Parties start comunicating with each other so all the Costomer from both Parties get satisfied? Yes the Drive is compatible with windows 8 and windows 8.1, but it does not open any files on the hard drive so useless.I talked with Hitachi and the have send the correct driver to microsoft, but it is up to them when they get integrated. This drive works just fine in Windows 7 Pro. I tried to use the drive in different Laptops with windows 8.1 and still the same problem. So clearly it is not a Problem on my Laptop!
Windows 8 installs the scsi driver not ide driver And it is very disapointing for me that microsoft has still not solved this Problem. I spend alot of money on my Laptop and windows 8 + my harddrive. I will not buy a new harddrive becourse Microsoft is not willing to solve it for me.
With other words for me was the step to buy Windows 8 a bad idea. When I am aible to use my harddrive I will install it again.but until I get a clear statement that it is fixed I stop waisting my time with install windows 8 and going back to windows 7.Both company make alot of money on user like me and that is what we get. I have a Hitachi Touro 1TB USB 3.0 drive I use to take films from my desktop PC (Windows 7 64 bit) so I can watch them on my BluRay player or my laptop (Surface Pro 3, Windows 8 64 bit). Suddenly the USB3 drive has stopped working with the windows 7 machine. I plug it in, I get the USB connected sound but the device does not show in either explorer or in Disk Management.
