I will be reading anything and everything from Cara McKenna from here on out. Another great story with not a lot of extra trappings. Just our MCs and a whole lot of fantastic raw hotness and a short & sweet plot. I was prepared for the hfn, quick ending and rough role play from reading other reviews of this title. As a result the end left me in a happy place where I was more than ready to give up all my stars for this book.

Great characters, both vulnerable, just a titch broken and both willing to take a chance in their own ways. Just the best. Controversial kink- but it's written with dignity and realness, it's not salacious, rather matter-of-fact and COMPLETELY consensual. At one point in the story Flynn became this real and almost tactile man, for a second I was completely there the descriptors were so immersive. He's an unforgettable character, and I loved the maturity between Flynn and Laurel. I WISH THERE HAD BEEN MORE. Like I would beg Cara McKenna for another installment in Flynn & Laurel's story.

It may not be for everyone, but it is really intensely intimate.
